CAREER
Forward, but relevant.
A path worthwhile is a path aligned.
I've built companies and movements that reach forward-
driven by an intense curiosity and resulted in new models for doing, not just talking. To move forward means
to remain ruthlessly relevant.

1995 – 2012
Technology Entrepreneur & Executive Operator
Sven Franken founded, built and led two international software services groups, Applicon Group & ICT-, Q-, Tele-People. Across these ventures, he scaled multi-country operations to a combined workforce of more than 160 full-time employees, delivering complex, missioncritical software and IT services for enterprise clients. His role encompassed full entrepreneurial and executive responsibility: organizational design, international team build-out, operational governance, commercial strategy, and financial performance. Both groups were successfully exited through international transactions, each involving comprehensive vendor and buyer due diligence processes, exposing him directly to legal, financial, operational, and technical scrutiny at scale. Key elements of this period include: Building and scaling two international software services organizations Managing >160 FTE across distributed teams and geographies Operating within the governance and quality frameworks of EY  Leading organizations through full international exit cycles  Direct involvement in end-to-end due diligence processes This phase established a deep, practical understanding of how organizations are built, valued, and transferred and how systems, teams, and governance must hold up under the stress of growth, audits, and exits. It formed the executional backbone for his later work in corporate transformation, infrastructure-grade systems, and long-horizon technology strategy.
2013 – 2021
Executive Consultant & Program Lead
During eight years at Worldline, Sven Franken operated at the intersection of technology, finance, and large-scale organizational transformation, supporting the design and execution of complex, mission-critical programs within one of Europe’s leading payment infrastructure providers. His role focused on translating strategic intent into executable systems aligning technology platforms, operational processes, governance structures, and regulatory constraints into coherent, scalable solutions. Working across multiple countries, stakeholders, and business units, he contributed to programs where reliability, compliance, and long-term resilience were non-negotiable. Key areas of responsibility included: Leading and structuring large, multi-year transformation and integration programs Bridging executive strategy with technical and operational execution Designing governance, delivery frameworks, and escalation models for high-risk environments Coordinating cross-functional teams spanning IT, operations, compliance, and external partners Rather than acting as a domain specialist in payments, Sven’s value lay in systems orchestration: ensuring that complex socio-technical systems could evolve without breaking operationally, financially, or institutionally. This period formed the foundation of his long-horizon thinking: exposure to infrastructuregrade systems, regulatory realities, and the consequences of deferred decisions. It strongly shaped his later work in spatial computing and regenerative systems design, where technology must remain accountable to the real world it operates in.
2020 – now
Founder & Chief Strategy Officer TROPOS AR
As Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of TROPOS AR, Sven Franken is responsible for the long-term vision, strategic architecture, and systemic coherence of the company. His role centers on defining where TROPOS AR must exist in the world, why it matters, and how its technology, organization, and business models must evolve together to support that mission. This includes shaping TROPOS AR’s positioning as spatial infrastructure rather than a standalone AR product, with a strong emphasis on data sovereignty, long-term value creation, and real-world deployability. Sven oversees: The strategic roadmap of the TROPOS AR platform and ecosystem Market positioning across public sector, culture, sports, cities, and enterprise Capital strategy, corporate structure, and international expansion Alignment between technology design, governance principles, and economic sustainability Rather than focusing on day-to-day delivery, his mandate is to ensure that every layer of TROPOS AR from SDK and cloud architecture to partnerships and financing fits into a coherent, future-proof system. With a background spanning technology entrepreneurship, large-scale systems implementation, and executive advisory roles, Sven brings a systems-thinking approach to spatial computing: treating augmented reality not as a feature, but as part of the emerging digital-physical infrastructure of society.
